Hello there,

In the last workshop we have learned how to link Lyrics or .bmp-files to User Programs.
In this workshop I would like to use 4 Pictures that I have taken in January 2006 before going to Winter NAMM and select the appropriate Song and the right User Programs.

Before following this workshop I strongly recommend to study Tips & tricks vol. 8, as I am building up on the knowledge of this workshop.

This time we have the pictures first and then we choose the Song to play.

Now please download the 4 User Programs and the 4 pictures for the Song “I left my heart in San Francisco” that I created.

USER PROGRAMS:

As a next step you should connect your E-80 with your computer via USB, drag and drop the pictures into the “Text” Folder and the User Programs into the Folder with the name “Put new User Programs here”.

Please unmount the E-80 Data Card from the PC/Mac. 
Now press User PRG in the Finder section on the panel of the E-80.

Press Finder on the Touchscreen and type the first letters of the Song title by also using the Touchscreen.

First press Find on the Touchscreen, then press “I left my heart 01” on the screen.
For assigning these 4 User Programs to the User Program List, please proceed the following steps.
Press User Program list on the Panel of the E-80.

Press Write and select the destination on the Touchscreen.

Press Execute.

Press “YES” on the Touchscreen.

Now you have assigned the first User Program to the list.

For doing the same thing please repeat the procedure.

Press User Program on the panel of the E-80 in the Finder section and select “I left my heart 02”

Press List in the User Program section on the panel of the E-80.

Press Write on the Touchscreen and the destination of the User Program.

Press Execute.

Press “YES” on the Touchscreen.

Please repeat the same procedure for the remaining 2 User Programs.

For looking at the pictures please press Lyrics & Score on the left side next to the display of the E-80.

Press Viewer on the Touchscreen.

For a full screen view just touch the screen anywhere on the picture.

Now you can play the Song with the 4 different User Programs and the 4 different pictures.
When changing the User Programs the pictures should change together with the sounds and variations of the styles.

You can change the User Programs without leaving this view on the screen by using the User Program buttons on the panel of the E-80 or by using the Up and Down buttons in the User Program field on the panel on the E-80.

Don’t forget to play the Song :-)

Of course the pictures can be displayed via the Video Out on your Television, Plasma screen or Beamer. Therefore you have to connect a simple cable from the Video Out on the rear of the E-80 to the Video In of your TV, Plasma screen or Beamer.

Touch the screen anywhere and you will see the switches again.






 

 

Press Options on the Touchscreen.

Press Viewer in the Video Out Section on the Touch Screen.

In this workshop I tried to share the idea of supporting Music with pictures.
This is vice versa from what is done with movies where the Music is written to support the pictures.

For the next song you want to play together with pictures you can search in your private photo collection or in the Internet for appropriate pictures that have a link with the music.
Many times I have chosen a picture of the band or singer of the song I am playing.
Also landscapes, oceans, sunsets, mountains are creating a nice ambience and might be very suitable for supporting the feeling of the song that you intend to play.
