OS Version Update
This update software (for Version 1.01) improves several functions of the DisCover 5, including faster loading/saving/scanning time. It also adds new functions like control of the Vocoder Harmonist’s pitch via the DisCover 5’s Bender lever, etc., for added flexibility. See the New v1.01 Features page for details.
NOTE:
* We recommend to make a backup of your own settings on Smart Media card before installing the new system version. See Save (to disk or SmartMedia) in the Owner's Manual (page 106 of the English manual).
* This update is only necessary if your current OS version is 1.00. Check the current version.
Instructions
1. Full format two 2HD floppy disks by your DisCover 5. Affix a label to them and write "SYSTEM DISK#1" and "SYSTEM DISK#2", respectively, on the labels.
2. Click on the file name on this page to download the files to your PC’s hard disk.
3. The file called DC5_OS101 will be downloaded.
4. After the download is finished, double-click the file.
5. The compressed file is extracted, and the three files appear.
6. Copy the files to the two floppy disks (see the “REMARKS” column)

7. Hold down the [CHAIN], [TOP] and [FADE OUT/IN] buttons while switching the DisCover5 on. The System Menu page appears.
8. Choose the “LOAD SYSTEM” option by pressing the TONE/USER PROGRAM [2] button.
9. Confirm your choice by pressing the TONE/USER PROGRAM [1] button.
10. The display asks you to insert “SYSTEM DISK#1”. Insert that floppy disk into the appropriate drive.
11. After loading the data on that disk (about 1 minute), the instrument asks you to insert
“SYSTEM DISK#2”. Remove “SYSTEM DISK#1” from the floppy drive and insert “SYSTEM DISK#2”.
12. After a while, you are asked to switch the DisCover 5 off, and then on again.
13. Do not remove “SYSTEM DISK#2” from the floppy drive. Turn off the instrument, wait a few seconds, then switch it on again.
14. The DisCover 5 initializes itself and loads the new system.
15. Wait until the main page is displayed. Once you see that page, your DisCover5 is ready.
16. Remove the “SYSTEM DISK#2” from the floppy drive.
17. Confirm that the system is called “Version1.01”. Check the version..
